Last Tuesday the Gvoerning Board of Ikerbasque met and approved the Strategic Plan for 2018-2021, as well as the appointment of new Board Members.
Ikerbasque plans to reach in 2021 the 360 researchers who will publish more than 1,250 articles. Throughout the period 2018-2021 there will be 120 new incorporations of researchers, and it is proposed that 40% of incorporations in 2021 be women. Ikerbasque expects to obtain a return of 80 million euros in the period 2018-2021, which means that for every euro that the Basque Government invests in Ikerbasque, they return close to twice as much funds to invest in the science system, thanks to the funds attracted by the researchers themselves for the financing of projects and the funding obtained by the management team of Ikerbasque for the co-financing of programs.

During the meeting, it was also approved the incorporation as members of the Board of four researchers with a long scientific career: Juanjo Álvarez Rubio, Jasone Martí, José Felix Martí Massó and Jean Michel Uhaldeborde.
