On October 24, Ikerbasque held the third edition of the Forum on Gender Equality to advance on equality between women and men in the field of Science in the Basque Country. The forum was attended by representatives of the main research centers and institutions in the Basque Country, as well as Helene Molinier, senior advisor on digital cooperation for gender equality and thematic manager of the Action Coalition on Innovation and Technology at UN Women.
The objective of this edition was to agree on a decalogue between the universities and research centers of Euskadi to advance on equality between women and men in the field of research. This decalogue may be adopted by any institution, which may adapt it according to its own reality.
As next steps, different initiatives or specific lines of action that are developed in various institutions to advance on equality between women and men will be collected. Once all the contributions have been received, a compendium of good practices will be prepared, and it will be distributed so that it can serve as inspiration to deploy the principles highlighted in the decalogue.
