Group Leader Position on Computational Chemistry in Biomaterials and Biomolecular Engineering at CIC biomaGUNE

The Center for Cooperative Research in Biomaterials, CIC biomaGUNE, together with Ikerbasque, invites applications for a Group Leader position in Computational Chemistry in Biomaterials and Biomolecular Engineering.

We are looking for candidates with a strong track record in the fields of Computational Chemistry, Computational Biomolecular Engineering, and/or Computational Materials. We seek an experienced and innovative researcher to lead a group, which will play a critical transversal role, collaborating with the three research lines within the center to integrate computational tools and data analysis techniques. Experience in advanced computational methods applied to biomolecular and biomaterial engineering, predicting nanomaterials and biomaterials properties, simulating engineered systems, elucidating interactions between materials and biological systems, as well as image processing, including artificial intelligence (AI) approaches, will be highly valued.

The successful candidate must have an established record of excellence in research in this area and is expected to develop an internationally recognized, externally funded research program that complements and/or extends the strengths of CIC biomaGUNE, to build internal and external collaborations, to mentor graduate students and postdocs, and to generate and transfer technology.

Candidates should submit the following information before August 15, 2024 in this link:

  • Cover Letter
  • Curriculum Vitae
  • Detailed description of research interests and research plan
  • Contact information of three colleagues who can provide reference letters

Please note the deadline of the Ikerbasque call is September 12, 2024 at 13:00 CET.

Only researchers with a strong record of research and group-leading experience, with a demonstrated record of scholarly excellence illustrated by the publication of influential research papers and a record of substantial external funding will be considered for a permanent Ikerbasque Professor or Associate position. Applications from younger researchers may be considered for an Ikerbasque Fellow tenure-track position. Women candidates are particularly welcome.
